Richard Wygand

Richard history: 7 years ago Richard was totally unfit and 100 pounds overweight, and decided to change his life completely. Richard bough a triathlon bike, and started training, in 2004. After his first race, a Half-Ironman, he decided that he wanted to do that for living, and started studying exercise science and training. Since then, Richard never stopped training, and inspiring people with his discipline, enthusiasm, and his will power. Richard became a professional athlete in 2006, when he raced IM Florida for the first time.

Richard Pro-Athlete: The 9 times Ironman pro-athlete, kept it going from there, and achieving every year more and more amazing results. His present goal is finish an Ironman below 9 hours, and soon be able to qualify to the IM World Championship, in Hawaii. For that he trains around 30hous/week, and keep a 100% raw vegan diet. Coach Richard: Besides being a professional athlete, Richard Wygand owns RW Training (www.rwtraining.net), where he coaches athletes of all levels for triathlon and running to achieve their performance and/or heath goals. Along with the fitness training, Richard helps his athletes with the nutritional part; once he is a plant based certified nutritionist. He is likewise a founder of the Wellington Triathlon Club, Florida (www.wellingtontriathlonclub.com)

Curiosities about Richard:
- Richard is a barefoot runner, which means he does all his trainings with minimalist shoes, and he finished already a half-marathon and an Ironman running with Vibram Fivefingers;
-Tri-lingual (English; Portuguese; Spanish)
- Double nationality (US and Brazilian)
